Description
Sodium Alginate’s form is a flavorless gum; two of the markets that
have put a mark on its importance are the textile and printing
industries.
The sodium alginate can be used in textile screen-printing, carpet
jet-printing, reactive dye-printing, as thickener for reactive dyes
and as an ink thickener for printing.
Why use sodium alginate in dyeing, textile and printing?
1. Sodium alginate has an impressive thickening ability.
2. Sodium alginate cannot react with a textile’s active coloring
thus it cannot produce a covalent bond. Its low and moderate
viscosity makes it ideal for manual and screen type printing.
3. Sodium alginate offers fabric a slinky appearance and smooth
with brighter colors and makes the dye in it hold on longer, ie
colors in fabrics do not fade easily. And Fabrics would also not
break easily.
4. Sodium alginate is suitable with diverse textiles including
synthetic fiber, silk, cotton, and wool.
