Powder Properties
Physical appearance: Fine powder.
Health and safety: Refer to TRIO CHEM epoxy powder coating MSDS.
Colors: Powders are available in a limited range of tailor made colours with differing degrees of gloss.
Cure conditions: Standard conditions are the following (actual temperature of the substrate):
****5minutes curing at **0°C~**0°C (Changes to the cure temperature and/or cure time from this standard can cause colour variations and opaqueness).
Application Method: Powder can be applied with corona electrostatic guns, tribo electric guns, electrostatic
fluidized bed coating and conventional fluidized bed dip process.
Specific weight: 1.**1.8kg/dm3(depending on type and colour).
Particle size: Suitable for electrostic, tribo application, electrostatic fluidized bed coating and conventional fluidized bed dip.
Optimum film thickness: Dependant on finish required. The thickness of the coating film of some clours must be higher in order to guarantee a good hiding power.
Product performance: Theoretical coverage sqm/kg=***0(average dft in μm × specific wt in kg/dm3).
Pre-treatment: To ensure maximum adhesion the substrate must be thoroughly clean, free from grease, oil, rust, mill scale or any other contaminant. Cleaning maybe carried out either by shotblasting, solvent or chemical degreasing. For applications where high corrosion or chemical resistance is required the substrate should be chemically treated prior to powder coating.
Ferrous substrate: Iron or Zinc phosphate.
Zinc Coated steel: Zinc phosphate or chromate conversion.
Aluminium: Chromate conversion.
