Further Knowledge of Exhaust Fan
How toExhausta Greenhouse
Anexhaust fan is usually located at the top of a greenhouse. It is an important temperature control that keeps your plants from getting too hot. It also helps control moisture, improve pollination and keep molds and pests to a minimum. We suggest that you install your exhaust fans "high up in the peak of the roof. Then place two additional fans, 1 or 2 feet from the floor, on either side of the entryway."

Instructions
Things You'll Need
*-by*4s Exhaust fan Drill Ladder X-Acto knife Screws Wood glue
o    1
Check to see if your kit greenhouse came withexhaust fanslots built in to the roof or side walls. If yours does not, before you cut out a hole, check to make sure you won't void the warranty by making changes to the greenhouse's design.
o    2
Measure the perimeter of theexhaust fanand create a frame for it out of *-by*4s. If you're having a hard time with the measurements, physically hold the *-by*4s up to the fan and mark off where you need to cut. Attach the boards together with screws and wood glue for a secure fit.
o    3
Screw your frame into one of the roof struts using enough screws that you're sure it is completely secure. For metal greenhouses, use the same steps except acquire a drill bit that is meant for metal, and predrill your holes before attaching your frame to the strut.
o    4
Cut your glazing around the inside edge of the frame. If sheet plastic, simply staple the edges to the wooden fan frame. If the glazing is a hard plastic, be careful to pick the right cutting tools to avoid cracks or shattering. Go slowly and use protective taping to reduce stress while cutting. Then caulk or spray foam around the edges between the frame and glazing.
o    5
Follow the instructions that came with yourexhaust fanto attach it to the frame you've built.
o    6
If yourexhaust fancomes with an electric plug you'll need to run an extension cord to it. Be sure to tuck the cords out of the way where there is little chance of tripping over them. Plastic zip ties work great for this.
Tips & Warnings
·         If your greenhouse glazing is made of glass, hire a bonded contractor or greenhouse technician to install yourexhaust fan. Cutting glass is both difficult and dangerous, and trying to do it yourself could end up being more costly if a large amount of glass is broken.
