General:
Carbendazim is a fungicide in its own right as
well being as the main metabolite of other fungicides such as
benomyl and thiophanate-methyl. Carbendazim is used to control a
wide range of fungi, including Ascomycetes, Fungi Imperfecti and
numerous Basidiomycetes.
Targest Diease:
Leaf spots, blotches and blights fruit spots and rots; Sooty molds;
Scabs; Bulb, corn and tuber decays; Blossom blights; Powdery
mildews; Certain rusts; And common soil borne crown and root
rots.
Target Crops:
It is used on cereals, cotton, grapes, bananas and other fruit,
ornamentals, plantation crops, sugar beet, soybeans, tobacco, turf,
vegetables, mushrooms, and many other crops under most climatic
conditions worldwide.
Dosage and Use:
1. Carbendazim is a widely used broad-spectrum benzimidazole
fungicide to control a wide range of fungal pathogens on cereals,
fruits, also used in soil treatment and foliage application on
appearance of disease. Soluble acid salts give some control of
Dutch elm disease when injected into the bark. May be used as a
seed dressing or as a post-harvest DIP
2. Carbendazim is also applied as mildew inhibitor in paint,
coating, paper, leather and texitile
Carbendazim usage specifies rates from 0.2 to 2.0 kg a. I. /ha and
applications from once per year to spray intervals ranging from 7
to*4 days
For Carbendazim *0% wp, 1.**1.5kg/ha. with **5_**0Liter water for
spraying.
