Portland cement is
the most commonly used type of cement in the world today. Portland
cement can be found in both concrete and mortar, not to mention
other construction mediums such as stucco and some types of grout,
where it acts as a binding agent. On a chemical level, Portland
cement is a fine powder comprised of a minimum of *6% calcium
silicate, with the remainder largely being a mix of aluminum, and
iron.
Niveda Industries works with reputable suppliers on a global scale.
This enables us to offer the client not only a competitive price
but also choose the region or specific country where they would
like their cement to come from. Our suppliers are based in Spain,
Brazil, Middle East, Pakistan, Turkey, India, Japan, and Canada
among others.
Just as there are various types of Portland cement available for different applications there are also various grades of cement existing within ordinary Portland cement. Ordinary Portland cement can be classified as being *3 grade, *2.5 (*3) grade, or *2.5 (*3) grade.
OPC *3 is simply ground much finer than OPC *3 during the final grinding process. This creates a product that is much stronger and more durable than less finely ground cements.
