Operation
1. Remove the protective cap.
Do not be alarmed if white crystals appear around the cap. This is
normal with pH electrodes and they dissolve when rinsed with
water.
2. Turn the tester ON by
pressing the ‘ON/OFF’ button.
3. Immerse into solution up to
the max immersion level.
4. Stir gently and wait until
the display stabilizes.
5. After use, Turn the tester
off by pressing the ‘ON/OFF’ button, use the water clean the
electrode and replace the protective cap.
Do not use distilled or
deionized water for storage purposes.
Large fluctuations in readings
could be due to lack of calibration, dry electrode or rundown
batteries.
4.
Calibration
1. Immerse the tester up to the
maximum immersion level in pH 6.*6 buffer solution.
2. Allow the reading to
stabilize and using a small screwdriver adjust the calibration
trimmer to read 6.*6.
3. Immerse the electrode in PH
4.*1 or PH 9.*8 the standard buffer solution of borax. Until the
display shows “3.***4.*6PH” or “9.***9.*3PH”.
Always use fresh buffers for
calibration.
Important the instrument must
be re-calibrated whenever.
1. The electrode or battery has
been replaced.
2. Approximately one mouth has
passed from the last calibration.
3. The electrode has been used
in particularly taxing conditions.
4. The utmost accuracy is
required.
5. Battery
replacement
When the battery symbol appears
on the display, this indicates a low battery and only 1 hour of
continuous use remain. Though the unit may continue to function,
the accuracy of the unit will be affected beyond the 1 hour twist
open the battery compartment lid. Remove old batteries and replace
with fresh ones noting polarity as show in battery
compartment.
6. Electrode
replacement
1. Remove the protective
cap.
2. Unscrew the plastic ring on
the top of the electrode.
3. Pull out the electrode and
replace it with a new one. Make sure the gaskets are in place
before screwing back the ring
