Low-E glass is a specially coated double glazing glass with high visible light-transmission and low emissivity (reduced energy transfer).  Benefits of low-E glass are in the summer months it allows visible sunlight in whilst blocking up to *6% of the suns infrared heat energy, but in the winter months, low-E glass reflects inside room heat back into the house.  As an extra benefit low-E glass also selectively filters out up to *6% of the suns harmful ultraviolet rays protecting from sum damage to furniture, curtains and carpets.  Low-E double glazed windows not only help with fuel bills they are very helpful in noise reduction and reduce condensation, however it is not guaranteed to remedy it, in some cases under certain weather conditions condensation can form on the outside surface of the glass this being positive proof that the glass is preventing heat loss from your house as the glass is becoming colder than normal and allowing dew to form.
