Uruguay has an excellent
international reputation as a producer and exporter of rice. This
has been achieved mainly on the basis of product quality and
processes. Indeed, the controls on seed production, using the
latest technology for the process of planting, harvesting, drying
and milling, and care regarding the transportation and marketing,
have been the main cause for the current international market
positioning.
Also, strict compliance of commitments has generated an atmosphere
of high credibility with international actors, which is enhanced in
recognition of buyers and consumers of Uruguayan rice quality.
The rice is planted in Uruguay

has only one crop per year, covering an approximate area of ??**0
thousand hectares and a production of more than 1 million
tons. The
