Cottonseed cake or cottonseed meal is a by-product obtained after oil extraction from cotton seeds. The cake secured in the production of oil from cottonseeds is among the most important feeds for livestock. It has long been used as a highly economic protein concentrated food for animal feeding. Being a great source of protein, fiber and energy it is used for feeding various classes of animals like cattle, cows, bulls etc. In countries like US this forms a valuable source of roughage for ruminant feeds and fiber for monogastric rations.
