Properties: calcium propionate, a white powder or crystal, is odorless, or slightly smells propionic acid, and stable to heat and light. it is highly hydroscopic, soluble in water (*0g/**0ml) and insoluble in ethanol and ether. under the acidic condition, it generates free propionic cid which has antibiotic effect. 
Application: Food preservative; moldy inhibitors. 
Storage and transport: Kept in tightly closed containers, it should be stored in a dry and ventilative warehouse, kept away from moisture and hot. Furthermore, it should be stored separately from poisonous substances. Handled with care, so as to avoid damaging to bags.
