Description
 Side rail latches/locks shall remain secure when subjected
to the forces of normal use. Compliance is checked by the following
test. Forces are applied at the worst-case accessible location:
Cycle the side rail mechanism (from the latched, upper position, to
the unlatched, lowered position, and back to the latched, upper
position) for *0 **0 cycles. A force (as specified in figure **8)
shall then be applied to the worst-case position for
locking/latching of the side rail in the direction of
unlatching/unlocking. The side rail shall not become
unlatched/unlocked or create any other unacceptable risk.
Side rails shall be designed to withstand the forces applied during
reasonably foreseeable misuse over the product life cycle without
creating an unacceptable risk.
