Ascorbic Acid is an
odorless white or almost white crystalline powder with an acidic
taste; the color may change to pale yellow when stored for a long
time .It easily dissolves in water, hardly in ethanol and is
insoluble in chloroform and ethoxyethane. It decomposes at about

Stability and
storage
Ascorbic Acid is fairly stable to air if
protected from humidity, but is somewhat sensitive to heat. The
product may be stored for *6 months from the date of manufacture in
the unopened original container and at room temperature below
*5℃。On prolonged storage, a slight
yellow discoloration may occur which, however, does not affect the
biological activity.
Uses
This product is used for the enrichment,
standardization of dry food preparations and drinks, for the
improvement of the baking qualities of flour, for solid and liquid
multivitamin and monoviitamin preparations and as an agent in dry
mixes for curing meat. This product is not intended for use in the
manufacture of sterile drug products. The purchaser assumes all
responsibility for additional processing, testing, labeling and
registration required for such use.
