Description
BioSurf Novel M
*0
Introduction
BioSurf M *0 is a naturally derived modified organic polymer
derived from various renewable sources. This organic
biopolymer is readily cold water dispersible so that no pre-mixes
are needed. The biopolymer can also be added to the oil phase or to
adjust batch properties at the end of production.
Because of its nonionic character and broad compatibility, organic
biopolymer provides the formulator with the flexibility to
formulate over a broad pH range (***1) with high amounts of mono-
and polyvalent salts (up to *0%) and a large variety of raw
materials. Creating all natural, elegant formulations is now
possible with the use of BioSurf M*0 organic biopolymer.
BioSurf M *0 aims at replacing LABSA with majority proportions from
*0 % to *0 % which is presently incorporated during batch
preparations. Due to constantly rising crude oil trends and LABSA
being a downstream derivative.
Application
Areas
BioSurf M *0 directly aims at replacing LABSA with a majority
proportion and imparting equal cleaning effect at much lower cost.
Detergent formulations, laundry cleaning formulations, hand wash,
Binding formulations for detergent cake.
Other applied areas include dispersant chemicals, emulsion forming
solutions, pesticides and herbicides adjuvant molecules. Different
grade of polymer is also suitable for enzyme supporting emulsions
for textile and paper industry.

development
Nonionic
Compatibility with other ingredients offers formulation
flexibility. Can be used with a wide range of other raw materials
like oils, emollients, cationic ingredients as well as silicones,
UV filters, vitamins, botanical extracts, alpha and beta hydroxy
acids, dihydroxyacetone, mono- and polyvalent salts, fragrances and
dyes. However protection against exposure to acids must be
maintained.
Shear thinning
Extremely shear thinning, with rapid viscosity recovery, suitable
for emulsion in spray or pump delivery
pH stability
Suitable for systems in a broad pH range from pH 3 to ph
*1.
Salt tolerant
Stable in the presence of high electrolyte levels (*0

Storage &
Handling
BioSurf M *0 can be stored at 5 to *0Deg C with retention in its
physico chemical properties. The Storage does not require inert
atmosphere or free of sunlight. The shelf life of Bio Surf M *0 is
six months with no alteration in claimed properties.
Formulation
Guidelines
Processing
Requirements
BioSurf M *0 can also be used for
rheology modification. The low viscosity of BioSurf allows the
detergent manufacturer to easily pump it to the batch preparator.
Since it is non-ionic in nature, it can be mixed with other
detergent builders in the initial stages itself. After all the
alkali nature ingredients are mixed to form a stock solution
followed by mixing with bleachates, whiteners and detergent
builders, Bio Surf should be added along with LABSA based on the
desired proportion for replacement. However there should be a
precaution against direct exposure to any acids since it can
degrade the polymeric nature of surfactant.
Compatibility
Bio Surf M *0 is recommended to be
used with SLES & SLS as preferred frothing and secondary
surfactants due to their identical plant origin nature. The
organic biopolymer can also be used in combination with other
thickeners and emulsifiers.
