 Electrical and electronic equipment can work properly in their electromagnetic environment, and would not affect other equipments operation by the electromagnetic. With the development of electrical and electronic technology, electromagnetic compatibility problems have become a common issues  that concern to all countries in the world.

  Electrical and electronic equipments have  very complex electromagnetic workable environment, they will produce a sorts of electromagnetic interference under normal and abnormal performance.  Such as switching,High voltage, large current of electric and magnetic fields near wires or equipments.The radio frequency electromagnetic radiation,Lightning;Electrostatic discharge,Supply network voltage fluctuation, voltage dip and disruption.Harmonic etc.

 Automation equipment operation are sensitive to electromagnetic environment.Microelectronics technology and computer technology based secondary elv equipment, such as relay protection, automatic control, remote and communication devices widely used in electric power system, These electrical systems have high sensitivity and easy influence to the high voltage equipment. Our country power system ,always due to switching, lightning, radiated electromagnetic fields causes of interference events.  Resulting automation equipment can not work normally, or cause components or equipment damage. 

If the eletronic System can not  solve the problem of electromagnetic compatibility properly, not only influence the safety of power system and the reliable of production,influence the development of power system.Emc test is the key to research and solve the problem of electromagnetic compatibility, in the recent years,many different industry construction the EMC lab in the domestic,such as communications, automobiles, home appliances, etc.Abroad have various types of laboratory, but not  EMC laboratory for the power system automation equipment.So it is very urgent needs to built the  EMC lab for the electric power industry.It it the necessary to construction the EMC lab for  electric power system and automation equipments testing and researching.

(2)　Automation equipment emc laboratory design　

The electromagnetic compatibility testing include the interference resistance (or electromagnetic sensitivity, EMS) testing and electromagnetic disturbance EMI) testing. EMS is simulate all kinds of interference  May occur in the operation of the immunity test , and the testing environment will as possiblely as to the actual operation of the equipment condition, testing whether it can endure the electromagnetic interference and the interference level.By adjusting the interference level of output, can simulate different interference degree of electromagnetic environment.Electromagnetic disturbance (emission) testing is the measurement test equipment under the condition of actual operation, the outside  conductor (power supply, signal, control, communications, grounding and other port) or space (shell) to emit electromagnetic disturbance level, it can not exceed the prescribed limits, in order to avoid interference to the other devices or system.In the above two kinds of test, you can test and compare all kinds of the launch of the technical measures of anti-interference and suppress the actual effect.

(3) Laboratory design should fully consider the power system automation equipment’s appearance, weight,bearing, space, the size and form of the door.Laboratory design is not only suitable for power system automation equipment products, but also suitable for other types of products, provide enough informations. At the same time, the laboratory testing also consider other types of product standards, according to GB, IEC, CISPR, E N and so on common standards for each test.
