Perlite in Industry

Description

1. In Heat Insulation of Cryogenic Tanks
Protection of all gases liquified in low temperature (up to ***0 C) in double walled tanks at liquegying point is possible with perlite having a very low conductibility value.
This humid-ree, incorruptible, fireproof and cheap material is filled freely between double wall of the tank at atmospheric pressure or under vacuum.

2. In Insulation of Various Ovens and Systems
In the ovens of which operating environment is maximum ****0 C, perlite is used to prevent exchange (heat loss) with outer environment. Free filling is made to the outer surface of the oven (between the double wall).

3. In Refractory Brick Porduction
In a boiler having an operating environment maximum up to ****0 C, perlite is used as an additive in the production of bricks used on heat-treatment-forging, thermal processing and melting furnaces. Refractory blocks and bricks produces by connecting perlite with clay and calcium silicate cement are light and provide high insulation. Therefore, they economise fuel consumption.

4. In Casting Industry
Perlite is used as an additive to casting sand. In Iron-Steel castings in volume of ***2% and in casting of other materials in volume of ****0% is added to the casting sand.

Benefits of perlite in cast:

• Since it provides metal to cool down slowly and balance, it prevents abnormal surface tensions.
• It does not burn, gas or react with metal during castin.
• It allows gases occured during casting to exit via the space and channels found within it.
• Clean, durable, quality and productive casting is obtained.
• Since it reduces casting faults to minimum, it reduces the cleaning time and labor cost of the product.
