Description

Kaolin is derived from the mineral Kaolinite which comes from the Earth's crust. It is an aluminum silicate represented as Al₂O₃*2Si_O**2H₂O. We have raw high grade kaolin for commercial purposes e.g cosmetics, ceramics, paints, as pigment in many paper and paperboard, paints and coatings, plastics, wire and cable and in concrete among many others.

Kaolin is used in plastics and rubber to enhance strength and increase hydrophobicity. It also works as a titanium dioxide extender, which means less of the expensive additive is needed to yield sharper colors.
