Description

EcoLifePro 2 nitrate meter is a hand-held device, designed to measure the quantitative nitrate content (rapid analysis) in fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and infant food. The device also can be used as salimeter (TDS-meter) that measures the concentration of water-insoluble inorganic impurities (the salts of different metals generally). 

The nitrates are the nitric acid salts (NO3), contained in the soil and absorbed by the plants from the soil. Thanks to their positive influence on the crops growth and fertility, and the harvest ripening speed, nitrates are widely spread in agriculture. When getting into human body, nitrites react with its microflora and transform into nitrites (NO2). The nitrites are absorbed into the blood stream from the intestinal tract and having aggregated with hematoglobulin form methylhemoglobin. Methylhemoglobin is a stable chemical compound that doesnt transport oxygen. It induces hypoxia, accumulation of lactic acid in tissues, tissue intoxication and histolysis.

However most researchers today believe that the cancer is the main danger, especially the gastro-intestinal cancer. With the nitrites, cancerogenic nitrate amides and amines can be synthesized from almost any food both in stomach and intestinal tract.

Nowadays it is no secret to anyone that most food products are not good for health and some can even be dangerous. More and more often people are told about the dangers of nitrates, especially in vegetables and fruits. They cause acute poisoning and have negative health impact, and this is proven. This is particularly important to test the nitrate level of infant food, fruit and vegetable purees, because children are extremely exposed to harmful effects of nitrates.

Until recently one had to go to laboratory to measure nitrate level. But people always want to drink fresh juices and eat organic food without nitrates. That\'s why we designed EcoLifePro 2, which allows you to determine the concentration of nitrates in your food.

1. Health

High TDS concentration results in undesirable taste which could be salty, bitter or metallic. It could also indicate the presence of toxic minerals.
2. Filter performance
Test your water to make sure the filter system has a high rejection rate and know when to change your filter cartridges or membrane.
3. Hardness
High TDS indicates so called Hard water, which causes scale buildup in pipes and valves, inhibiting performance.
4. Aquaculture
A constant level of minerals is necessary for aquatic life. The water in an aquarium should have the same levels of TDS and pH as the fish and reef\'s original habitat.
5. Hydroponics
TDS is the best measurement of the nutrient concentration in a hydroponics\' solution.
6. Pools and Spas
TDS levels must be monitored to prevent maintenance problems.
