Amanita muscaria is a red to orange gill-bearing mushroom that natively grows throughout most of the Northern Hemisphere. This iconic species has a long history in the spiritual and shamanic traditions of many cultures worldwide and is considered to be the classic magic mushroom as its history stretches back possibly over *0,**0 years. It was used as an entheogenic sacrament during the religious rites of the people of Siberia and has even been speculated to have been the sacred Soma mentioned in the ancient Vedic scriptures. The Taoists of ancient China also used Amanita muscaria and made reference to it as the Divine Mushroom of Immortality.

Today this mushroom is used as a magickal incense to open doorways into other planes of existence and easily invoke spiritual beings.
