Jet fuel, also known as aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or avtur, is a type of aviation fuel used in aircraft powered by gas turbine engines. It appears colorless to straw-colored. Jet A and Jet A*1 are the most commonly used commercial aviation fuels, and they are manufactured to a standardized international specification. Jet B, which is used for its improved cold-weather performance, is the only other jet fuel commonly used in civilian turbine-engine powered aviation.
