Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) was set up in ***3 for manufacture of Foot and Mouth Disease vaccine. The technical know how obtained from Wellcome Foundation Ltd., UK. We have, over the years, increased our product portfolio and we now make a large number of vaccines for various species of animals. Besides, we also manufacture and market a range of specialty animal health formulations. IIL is the market leader in Veterinary Biologicals in India. We operate one of the largest plants in the world for veterinary vaccines and this plant is WHO-GMP and ISO****1 certified. We export our veterinary vaccines to several parts of the world and we are also a registered supplier to Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO). IIL, has established a state-of-the-art manufacturing division by name "Human Biologicals Institute", which has commenced manufacture of world class Inactivated tissue culture human rabies vaccine by using Vero cell line. The product is called Abhayrab and can be used both for post-bite treatment and for prophylaxis in high-risk groups. Recently we have launched Hepatitis B vaccine (ELOVAC B). We plan to shortly add other vaccines such as DPT, TT, Measles etc.
