   The word "Otac" means "Father" in the Macedonian language and is representative of the deep history of edible oil extraction that dates back to ***0BC, which was engineered by countless fathers who developed processes that led to the creation of the edible oils we know and love today.  Our processes and production standards are in keeping with the traditions of "clean extraction" that have been present in Macedonia for some time.  As such, we produce all of our world-class edible oils in the highlands of Macedonia in honor of the Generations of Excellence that preceded us.  
   At Otac we believe that health and nutrition come first.  That's why we are committed to procuring the highest quality ingredients and ensuring that the quality of the ingredients do not lose their value during the process of oil extraction...and there is only one way to accomplish this feat, and that is through the process known as "cold pressing".  The process of cold-pressing oils is intricate and does not require the use of extreme heat or the addition of chemicals and other liquids that dilute and adversely impact the nutritional elements present in edible oils.  Although pressing and grinding produces heat through friction, the temperature must not rise above **0 degrees Fahrenheit (*9 degrees Celsius) for any oil to be considered cold pressed.  Our cold pressed oils are produced at even lower temperatures, enabling the oils to retain all of their flavor, aroma, and most importantly...nutritional value.  We invite you to learn more about our premium selection.
