A brief introduction to our company and more in particular to our product Xiran®. Xiran® is Polyscopes trade name for SMA polymer. SMA, Styrene Maleic Anhydride, is a synthetic polymer that is built-up of styrene and maleic anhydride monomers. SMA is a polymeric material with remarkable properties that no other plastic product can bring. First of all, SMA can withstand high temperatures without deforming. It is a rigid material that will keep its shape and dimensions under high mechanical or thermal loading. SMA is also a polar material, which makes it easy to paint without any pre-treatments. Furthermore SMA is a transparent material with a high refractive index. Xiran® is being produced by Polyscope Polymers in the Netherlands, the only SMA manufacturer in Europe.
