In ***4, Upper Volta changed its name and became Burkina Faso; then
the company voltaic des Fibres Textiles changed its name and became
the company Burkinabe des Fibres Textiles abbr.SOCIETE PATENE SANNUM
(S.P.S) with a new capital of four billion four hundred million franc
CFA (4,**0,**0,**0) as follows:
State Burkina Faso: *5%
CDFT: *4%
Private Burkina Faso: 1%
With the entry of the producers (UNPCB) in capital in ***9 (of board
of Directors, June *5, ***9) the capital is now distributed as
follows:
State Burkina Faso: *5%
DAGRIS (ex-CFDT): *4%
National Union of Burkina Faso cotton producers: *0%
Private Burkina (BIB and BICIA-B): 1%

Following pressure from investors (ECOBANQUE (EC), International
Monetary Fund (BCEAO), the SOCIETE PATENE SANNUM (S.P.S) will lose the
in ***4; what led to the liberalization of the cotton sector. The
country therefore divided into *3 zones:
The West of the country operated by the SOCIETE PATENE SANNUM (S.P.S)
