Our company is dealing with wood pellets for heating purposes. Pellets heating technology is comparatively new, and was developed from wood chip boiler technology. Pellets are generally manufactured from wood waste from the wood-processing industry, and have the advantages (compared with wood chips) of very low water content and low bulk, easing the problems of storage and transport frequently associated with biomass fuel.Pellet heating protects the environment, as burning wood pellets does not increase the CO2 pollution in the atmosphere.Wood-pellets are a processed fuel made by compressing dry sawdust. With low moisture content of around 5%, the fuel is very energy-dense (typically providing 5kWhrs of energy per kg) and produces little ash. With its "free-flowing" characteristics it is easy to handle and use in automatic appliances.
