It shall be judged mainly by three factors of dry tea, including color, aroma and appearance. If the color of green tea is green bloomed, the color of black tea is black bloomed, the tea is fat, bold and hard or has much pekoe, the twist of black tea and green tea is tight, the particle of gunpowder tea is round and tight with dense aroma, those are the quality features of spring tea.
If the color of green tea is grayish dull, the color of black tea is rosy, the tea leaf is light, loose and wide, tender stalks is wide and long, and the twist of black tea and green tea and strip tea is loose, the particle of gunpowder tea is spongy and the aroma is slightly coarse, those are quality features of summer tea.
If the color of green tea is yellowish green, the color of black tea is dark red, the sizes of tea leaves are varied, the leaf morphology is light, thin and small and the aroma is relatively plain, they are the symbol of autumn tea.
