ASTM B**2 Standard Anti-Corrosion ALuminum Conductor Steel Reinforced ACSR Conductor
 Applications

ACSR is a composite conductor consisting of seven or more aluminium and galvanized steel wires built up in concentric-lay-stranded layers. 

Used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. ACSR provides optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

Construction 

Aluminum alloy ****-H**9 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core.

Core wire for ACSR is available with class A, B, or C galvanizing(GA,GB,GC); aluminized,aluminum wrapped, aluminum coated Or aluminum-clad (AW). The steel core may be single wire or stranded wires depending on the size.

Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core

or infusion of the complete cable with grease. 

Material Standard 
(1).The hard aluminum conductor used for AAC and ACSR conforms to the standard GB/T *********7(equivalent to IEC ****9: ***7). 
(2).The zinc coated steel wire used for ACSR conforms to IEC ****8: ***7. 
(3).Production can be arranged according to customers requirements for material standard, etc.

Notes 

Resistance is calculated using ASTM standard increments of stranding and metal conductivity of *1.2% IACS for EC (***0) and 8% IACS for steel. AC (*0Hz) resistance includes current dependent hysteresis loss factor for 1 and 3 layer constructions. 
Current ratings are based on *5oC conductor temperature, *5oC ambient, 2ft/s wind, *6/watts/sq. Ft sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.
