Shin Sung Controls (SSC) Euro Smart family features SSCs proprietary energy absorption pipe technology. Upon head on or offset vehicular crashes the galvanized steel  EAP bursts and coils up as it absorbs the energy of impact. Segment by segment, the carriage panels slide along the mono rials. The twin monorails allow the   cushion to remain intact, redirecting side vehicular impacts and prevent lateral, vertical and overturning movement. Partial segments and pipe are replaced based on   the severity of impact, while the mono rails and uncrushed segments are reused indefinitely.  
The  Euro Smart family includes a range of units for design speeds of 110km/h, 100km/h, 80km/h, and  50km/h and has been tested as a redirective  and bi-directional crash cushion, using 1317-3 criteria.
