Hydrocyclone brief introduction

Hydrocyclone is a high efficiency separating device that utilizes centrifugal force to separate two-phase fluid, and it has been widely applied in classification, thickening, dewatering, desliming, separation, washing and other processes in ferrous and non-ferrous metal mines, non-metal mines, chemical mines.



Hydrocyclone working principle

Slurry is introduced under pressure through the tangential or involute entry (depending on feeding way of the inlet head) into the hydrocyclone body. Under centrifugal force, large particles will move downwards along outer swirling flow and be discharged through apex as underflow while fine particles will move upwards through inner swirling flow and be discharged from vortex finder as overflow.
