Mangosteen is a rich source of Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin B Complex.
Vitamin C has been found to be a cure for cancer, common cold and other diseases.
Vitamin B complex is necessary for the growth and proper functioning of the body.
Vitamin E is essential for reproduction and it works as an essential antioxidant, neutralizing the free radicals present in the body.

Thailand is one of the main mangosteen producing countries, of which it is ranked the 4th in the world by the volume of total production.
The major planted areas are in the south and the east of the country, which accounts for *8 and *1% of the total area under mangosteen cultivation.
Chanthaburi province is the major area for mangosteen cultivation in the east, whereas Chumphon and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces are major producers in the south.
The production season in the east of the country starts from April to June, but in the south continues from July to September.
