Borax Pentahydrate is the refined form of natural sodium borate and has the chemical formula Na2B4O7.5H2O. Composed of boric oxide (B2O3), sodium oxide, and water, it is a mild, alkaline salt, white and crystalline, with excellent buffering and fluxing properties.
Available in crystalline (granular) form, Borax Pentahydrate is an important multifunctional source of B2O3, particularly for processes in which the simultaneous presence of sodium is beneficial.

• Glass,
• Ceramic enamels,
• Fertilizers,
• Boron compounds,
• Boric acid production,
• Fiberglasses: Insulating wools; In batts; blankets, rolls and processed forms for insulating buildings, equipment and vechiles at high and low temperatures,
• Mats and Rovings: Used to reinforce organic and inorganic materials such as polyester and epoxy resins, bitumes, etc., to form boats, roofing materials or for protecting underground pipelines against corrosion,
• Coarse Fibers: In the form of packs used for filtering gases or liquids as in heating and ventilating systems and chemical processes,
• Acoustical products: Sound absorbant materials for acoustically treating residential, commercial and industrial buildings,
• Yarns: Made by twisting and plying fine stable fibers or continous filaments of glass which are fabricated on looms, braiders and other equipment standard in the textile industry. Also used as electrical insulation and as chemically stable base for various coatings.
