Introduction
PTC stands for positive temperature coefficient. PTC thermistors
are resistors with a positive temperature coefficient, which is
thermally sensitive resistor whose resistance increases
significantly with temperature. PTC could keep working properly
under low voltage range between ***5 voltages and high voltage
range from ******0 voltages.
Construction and
properties of PTC pellet
Ceramic materials are usually good for high resistance insulation,
and ceramic PTC thermometers are often fabricated using mixtures of
barium carbonate and some other poly-crystalline ceramic materials.
It has a lower resistance and semi conducting properties. The
materials are ground, mixed, compressed into disks or rectangle
shapes and sintered, preferably at temperatures below ***0 °C.
Afterwards, they are carefully contacted, provided with connection
elements and finally coated or encased.

pellets:

- Heating power controlled by the air flow
- Uniform heating without any power variation
- No risk for overheating
- Long life time
PTC pellet can be asembly with insulating film or aluminum plate
for applications need rapid heating such as electrical hair curlers
/ straightener. Assembly with insulate film type heater are consist
of one or more PTC pellets combined with two aluminum/steel plates
as electrodes and packed in insulating film. Assembly with aluminum
plate, it can be combining with the high thermal conductivity of
aluminum plate, the working surface can get even temperature
distribution.
Applications for PTC
pellets
PTC elements can be widely used in Personal care appliance, Kitchen
appliance, Household appliance, etc.
1) Personal care appliance such as hairbrush, curler, hair
straightener, facial sauna, humidifier, foot massager, wax warmer;
etc.
2) Kitchen appliances such as electric cooker, electric kettle,
feeding bottle sterilizer, coffee machine, electric chocolate
melting pot, liquid warmer, etc.
3) Household appliance such as fan heaters, air conditioner, boot
dehumidifier, air purifier, hand warming machine, foot warmer,
towel warmer and sterilizer.
