Chamomile essential oil has disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties due to the presence of chamazulene in it. Chamomile preparations reduce the processes of fermentation and putrefaction in the intestines. Chamazulene is also associated with the antiallergic and anti-inflammatory effect of chamomile and essential oil preparations.
